The next stage of Lake Apopka’s restoration is underwater
A single boat, seemingly randomly following the shoreline of Lake Apopka and carrying 6,000 Illinois pondweed plants, is part of the ongoing efforts of the St. Johns River Water Management District to restore Lake Apopka. The plants used to be plentiful in the lake but disappeared 70 yeas ago.
