Friday Snorel & Dive Excursion

Snorkel/Dive End-of-Conference Friday Excursion

FLMS Members attending the 2018 Conference in Ft. Lauderdale are invited to stay Friday afternoon (August 31, 2018) to explore the diverse ecosystem of a Florida coral reef.

Snorkeling and diving with Sea Experience is fun, easy, and safe. We will meet at the dive shop at 1:30 pm (earlier for divers who need to pick out gear) for a 2:15 pm departure. The 2 ½ hour trip starts with a narrated tour through Millionaires Row on the Intracoastal Waterway to Port Everglades and then we head out to the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale, Florida’s ocean waters.

The reef, named the Fort Lauderdale Twin Ledges, is about ½ mile offshore between Las Olas Blvd. and Sunrise Blvd. This is a natural coral reef lying from 7’ at the shallowest point to 20’ at the deepest and hosts a variety of colorful marine life. You will be absolutely amazed at the underwater world that lives just right off our shores. We spend approximately an hour at the reef where you have the option of either snorkeling or staying dry and enjoying the view through one of two 3’ x 9’ glass bottom viewing wells on the boat. We will then cruise back along the beach as we head back to the dock where we conclude the tour.

Please give us a head count in advance and let us know whether you will be snorkeling or diving. Here is a breakdown of the prices:

Snorkeling (we provide equipment): $40 adult/$25 child (2-12)/<12 free

Riders (can view marine life through glass bottom): $30

Divers (1 tank dive): $60 (tank only provided) varies up to $100 (all gear provided)
