Sproul Chair for Southwest Florida Habitat Restoration and Management and is a Professor of Marine and Ecological Science at Florida Gulf Coast University. He has been a university professor specializing in wetland and aquatic biogeochemistry and ecological engineering for 44 years. Dr. Mitsch has authored over 700 publications.
