For this year's Student Scholarship Fundraiser, FLMS is chartering a bus from Hawks Cay Resort to Key West for a fun evening. 


The bus will depart Hawks Cay at 5pm and arrive at the bus parking area at approximately 6:30pm.

Join a group and Conch Crawl from place to place or do your own thing!

Be back on the bus by 10pm for the trip back to Hawks Cay or it will be a very long UBER ride!

Friday Snorel & Dive Excursion


Snorkel/Dive End-of-Conference Friday Excursion

FLMS Members attending the 2018 Conference in Ft. Lauderdale are invited to stay Friday afternoon (August 31, 2018) to explore the diverse ecosystem of a Florida coral reef. 

Snorkeling and diving with Sea Experience is fun, easy, and safe. We will meet at the dive shop at 1:30 pm (earlier for divers who need to pick out gear) for a 2:15 pm departure. The 2 ½ hour trip starts with a narrated tour through Millionaires Row on the Intracoastal Waterway to Port Everglades and then we head out to the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale, Florida’s ocean waters.

The reef, named the Fort Lauderdale Twin Ledges, is about ½ mile offshore between Las Olas Blvd. and Sunrise Blvd. This is a natural coral reef lying from 7’ at the shallowest point to 20’ at the deepest and hosts a variety of colorful marine life. You will be absolutely amazed at the underwater world that lives just right off our shores. We spend approximately an hour at the reef where you have the option of either snorkeling or staying dry and enjoying the view through one of two 3’ x 9’ glass bottom viewing wells on the boat. We will then cruise back along the beach as we head back to the dock where we conclude the tour.

Please give us a head count in advance and let us know whether you will be snorkeling or diving. Here is a breakdown of the prices:

Snorkeling (we provide equipment): $40 adult/$25 child (2-12)/<12 free

Riders (can view marine life through glass bottom): $30

Divers (1 tank dive): $60 (tank only provided) varies up to $100 (all gear provided)

This spreadsheet is a joint effort of the Continuous Monitoring Workgroup, Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration (DEAR) and Florida Water Resources Monitoring Council (Council).  It was developed, compiled, and populated in late 2016-early 2017 to assist monitoring entities that need information on continuous monitoring use in Florida.  Caveat: the FDEP and the Council acknowledge that this information is not complete for all monitoring entities in Florida.
